Creating an Environment for Problem Solving:

Project Services and Applied Resource Geography

Benefits of Using My Services

Here is why I can help you.

Flexibility: I can work any part of the year, and can travel to your unit at any time. I worked at short notice at emergency National disaster centers, and internationally in Afghanistan and China, and have a Secret clearance, as well as leading emergency wildfire stabilization teams.
Efficiency: I am familiar with National Park Service resource management, having completed projects in six national parks, and worked as a soils scientist and resource information branch chief for Yellowstone N. P. for 12 years, as well as a soil scientist in the Forest Service. I use the highest available technology (GIS, GPS, electronic publishing, science databases). This makes the best use of your funding.
Client-Orientation: 200 projects in reclamation, restoration, wildfire and controlled-fire effects, climate change, minerals, facility siting, cultural resources, trail and road location, invasive/exotics, fuel treatment, law enforcement investigations, visuals and recreation, data migration, resource information synthesis, soil quality monitoring for the Forest Service and the National Park Service.
Experienced in consulting: eight years experience in my own consulting business in workplace violence prevention (7,000 clients), five years leading a GIS enterprise group in the Forest Service (with five employees) with clients from the National Park Service, Montana State University, and Forest Service. I have led 19 BAER (ESR) teams around the country on large and small fires.
Professional: Everything I do is based on the scientific method, but oriented to the needs of the client. I do professional quality publication graphics, whether posters, prints, maps, or documents, in any format you need.
Credible: PhD in soils, 15 years GIS (in NPS, Forest Service, and internationally), build computers for fun, have built databases, models for digital soil surveys; Have done landscape visualization movies, 3D analysis, have built and maintain three web sites.
Published: 40 professional publications, published book author, completed and published the soil survey of Yellowstone N. P., Gallatin N. F., and part of Grand Teton N. P.
Specialized in What You Need: I specialize in resource management, including smaller projects that can be completed in a year or less, including those which may only require a week or two. However, I am also available for longer-term support if you need it.
